MAP acoustic guitar duo

Max Gilkes and Pete Harris are two very different musicians who – every once in a while spend some together and write and perform music for two acoustic guitars. This part time lifestyle has produced three recordings, “Flying Without Wings” (1998), “The View From Here” (2002), and their most recent effort “Four Stories”. Every once in a while their music is featured on some home improvement TV programme or other (they are big on both Gardeners World and Countryfile for example) but have also been used on TV and radio around the world. Due to their other commitments they play live together rarely but it’s usually quite a spectacle when they do…

Pete’s background is as a session guitarist touring the world with artists such as Aled Jones, Gareth Gates, Patrizio Buanne, Andy Abraham, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas etc as well as being an accomplished vocalist and songwriter. Max splits his time between being a touring and recording artist in his own right and working in production as both a writer and producer. He has credits on records with artists and producers ranging from Lily Allen to Manu Chao!
